Academicians of the AcSS announced
The previous and current Heads of the Department of Financial & Management Studies, Professor Laurence Harris and Professor Laixiang
Sun, along with SOAS Principal & Director Professor Paul Webley, have
been conferred the award of Academicians of the Academy of Social
Sciences (AcSS). The Academy's mission is to promote social sciences in the UK for the public benefit and responds to government and other consultations on
behalf of the social science community. Academicians are
distinguished scholars and practitioners from academia and the public
and private sectors who are recognised for their contribution to the
field of social science. "This is a great honour for the Department, which is the academic home
of these three new Academicians and hosts four of the total six
Academicians who affiliate with SOAS. This reflects the high quality
of our teaching and research in the area of financial and management
studies," said Laixiang Sun, the current Director of CeFiMS. They will join the School's three other Academicians of the Academy -
Vice Principal Nirmala Rao, Professorial Research Associate in the
Department of History, Tom Tomlinson, and Professor of Economics in
the Department of Financial & Management Studies, Christine Oughton. Find out more about AcSS by visiting their website
