MSc Public Policy & Management

Programme Description

The MSc Public Policy and Management will equip you to manage programmes and advise on policy in a variety of settings. It covers the important topics that face the public sector globally. These include budgeting and taxation, information systems, human resource management, decentralisation, privatisation, project appraisal, macroeconomic policy and the management of change. The programme includes an option to study research methods and write a dissertation based on your personal experience or on case studies in your place of work.

Careers

As a graduate of this programme you will be well prepared for high positions in government, public service, international organisations and NGOs. Politicians, both national and local, in various countries also study with the programme.

Entry requirements

You should either have a good degree in a social sciences discipline (qualifications in other subjects will be assessed on their merits), or an equivalent qualification and suitable relevant work experience.

Programme length

A minimum of two calendar years. Maximum registration of five years.

You will choose seven courses from those listed below.There is also the option to write a 10,000 word dissertation, subject to a review of your academic performance so far.
