Programme description
Formulated for people working in policy-making and advisory capacities, this Diploma provides an overview of the variety of approaches to public policy and management from a historical and comparative perspective. The courses move through techniques of policy analysis and implementation to discussion of particular policy issues. Careers
Graduates in Policy Studies are likely to work in government, at national and sub-national levels, both as politicians and officials, within international organisations offering help to governments, in consultancies in public sector analysis and reform, and in NGOs operating in development and service delivery fields.Entry requirements
You should have a good first degree in a social sciences discipline or another appropriate discipline from a recognised university (qualifications in other subjects will be assessed on their merits). Previous education and experience without a first degree will be considered if qualifications are judged to be equivalent to a first degree and included suitable preliminary training.Language requirements
You will require a high level of English language ability in reading, writing, and study skills. If English is a second language, you may be asked to provide evidence of language ability as tested by the British Council or another registered body. Programme length
The programme takes a minimum of one year to complete. Each of the courses lasts eight weeks. You are regsitered for a maximum of five years.2010/2011 Study Calendar
